Review by Phil Coates
In a city crowded with IRs this one makes no effort to distinguish itself.
If you cannot get in some fresh stuff on Saturday night, when are you going to? The disastrous starters were such blatant overcooked reheats we should have sent them back, but we struggled on.
The chicken madras was well and truly SYIR bog standard - good chicken pieces in oily slop sauce. The chicken karai was getting there. Lots of veg, especially onions, and some unusual ones like aubergine. But apna style here seems to mean throw the vindaloo powder at it. In its non apna style version it was suspiciously fruity. From sugar? Who can say? And in the end, who cares?
What clinched it for me was when I turned on the taps in the gents toilet. No water. Had to use the ladies. Now even the scruffiest Bradford dives don't force you to do that!
